Lenovo 43302AU Review

Lenovo 43302AU Review

Lenovo 43302AU is a fairly powerful laptop, and I have serious doubts that you will find something, or better said anything, better than this particular device. First off, the hardware of this laptop is one of the stronger ones you will find under that particular category. Keep in mind that for less than 350 dollars you have absolutely no chance to find something like this: a new laptop with an Intel i series processor on it. Read the rest of the Lenovo 43302AU Review below!

Now, while it may be only a 1st generation Intel i3 processor, it’s still an i3 processor. Of course, many say that the first generation of the Intel i series of processors are just pre-existing processors (the best at that time) which were take, over-clocked a bit and re-branded. Now personally, I haven’t used one of these first generation processors myself, so I can neither confirm nor deny said rumor.

Now the only thing I can honestly complain about is the fact that this laptop has upgradable RAM. While that may be good, you will see in just a minute why I say this. You see, this laptop comes with 2 GB of RAM on it. If you want to put in the maximum (8 GB), you will have to get rid of that small 2 GB plate as the laptop has only 2 RAM slots, but until then I highly recommend buying another stick of 4GB DDR3 @ 1066MHz for a grand total of 6GB. Although this is a good laptop, it will perform even better once you upgrade the RAM from 2GB to 6GB.

Who is it for? discussing who would benefit most from this laptop...

  • Student
As a student myself, I can honestly say that not a lot of spare time remains for any other activities, therefore, not a whole bunch of performance is actually required for you to do your daily tasks successfully. However, if a little bit of time arises, it never hurts to have the extra performance you could rely on. All those things considered and adding the price of the device to the equation, I'd say you have yourself a pretty hard offer to refuse.

  • Casual User
From all the casual users I know of, none of them use the PC at its full potential. A few programs, web browsing, movies and music hardly consist tasks that would prove challenging to your computer. Lenovo 43302AU should be absolutely perfect for all casual users alike as it comes very cheap, it offers great performance in any task and it also has a whole lot of hardware strength on which you can rely on if you ever think of going serious with your PC.

  • Business User
As far as I see things, a business user's most valuable aspect to consider, besides performance of course, is mobility. That is why I believe the best laptop for a business user would be the ultrabook. However, if that one is out of the question, this laptop could very well be the solution to your problem. Provided you don't try to over-do it with the multitasking without upgrading the RAM first, Lenovo 43302AU should be just fine for your business purposes.

  • Power User
The way I see it, a power user's laptop should be the most powerful laptop out there, or the second best at the very least. I believe that all components aside from the video card should be the strongest out there when considering the purchase of a power user laptop. Lenovo 43302AU should only suit power users if you upgrade the RAM beforehand. Otherwise, I am afraid it will perform quite poorly under stress.

  • Gaming
The definition of the gaming laptop is basically that of the power user laptop, except you also add a strong video card to the equation. Provided you upgrade the RAM to the maximum amount, Lenovo 43302AU should handle a few games out there. However, don't expect to get a whole lot of performance out of your games. If you want performance in gaming, you really should build your own custom gaming laptop.

PROs Vs. CONs

One unique feature you don't get to see everyday is the fingerprint scanner Lenovo 43302AU has implemented in it. I do not know how reliable it is, as I personally have never used it myself. Another great feature of the 43302AU Lenovo laptop is that it has Microsoft Windows 7 on it and I believe the deal Microsoft was having is still standing; if you buy any device with Microsoft Windows 7 on it you can upgrade to Windows 8 for free or buy Windows 8 Pro for a mere 15 dollars.

One of the main disadvantages I managed to find is the complete absence of a dedicated video card. While the HD 3000 given by the processor is strong enough in its nature, it never hurts to have one made specifically for stress testing. Also, since the computer comes with a pre-installed version of Microsoft Windows 7 Professional, you can expect to find a pretty bunch of programs on it. While some may have their uses, most of them are simply trial versions of programs.

User Reviews: what others think?

As of yet, there are only two user reviews out there and both of them speak very good about this laptop. Both reviewers have nothing but good things to say about the manufacturer and the product itself, claiming that it works just perfectly.

RAM Upgrade for Lenovo 43302AU from 2GB to 6GB DDR3 @ 1066MHz

Summary

In conclusion, this isn't a laptop very fit for all categories. As it stands, it can be very good for a casual user and good for a student. It can also suit a business user as well in its present state. If you upgrade the RAM to 8 GB, you may be able to use it in a few power user activities, provided you don't over-do it and in quite a lot of games as the HD 3000 graphics card of this processor is pretty darn strong.
