HP Envy 6-1110us Review

Available on Amazon.com from mid-October, the HP Envy 6-1110US Sleekbook is a fairly new model. Casual users and students will find the price attractive while business users will find the power, mobility and features attractive. At the time of the review this laptop was priced below $650 (already discounted from the $699 list price).

You know how I always recommend the use of an Ultrabook by any and all business users as it is more mobile? Well, I now have an Ultrabook for you that can be used by all categories. Sure, it does have a few drawbacks which you will notice when we get to them, but all and all it’s more than strong enough as to handle close to anything. Hell, provided you know how to set your details in games and generally know the limitations of the laptop, as long as you don’t try to overcome those limits you should do just fine.

Plus, this isn’t exactly your run-of-the-mill laptop. Now some people may disagree with the fact that it has AMD / ATI on it, however, I say that it is a good thing. The fact that it has those two things means one thing: it is cheaper than the Intel equipped ones, and in some distinct cases, it may even be better. In the end, they both have their strong points and weak points, but comparing them side-by-side proves that they complement each other quite nicely.

Who is it for? discussing who would benefit most from this laptop...

  • Student
From the perspective of a working student, I can easily say that not a lot of time remains for other activities such as gaming, movie watching or anything else. If you have a few spare hours each day through some miracle, you'd be better off using them to study. Therefore, the logical decision would be that you do not need a very powerful laptop as a student. However, I believe that it never hurts to have a bit of performance you can rely on to be capable of most tasks. Students will probably fall in love with the HP Envy 6-1110us.

  • Casual User
I know quite a few casual users, and as of yet I've found that none of them know / are willing to use the laptop at its maximum potential. Technically, any PC / laptop can be used to fit the needs of a casual user. That is why I must say this harsh truth: While HP Envy 6-1110us can handle just about anything you throw at it, I would definitely not recommend it for a casual user as they can get away with a much cheaper laptop than this one.

  • Business User
Normally I recommend Ultrabooks for all of the aspiring businessmen as I believe mobility is the most important fact to consider when in the shoes of a business man. Since this is an Ultrabook, or something very similar to one and it is also extremely powerful to boot, one should not need to say that this device is absolutely perfect for a business user. The price may be a bit steep, but you get what you pay for in terms of quality. Business people will find that the powerful quad-core processor and RAM combination (2.4 GHz / 4GB DDR3) provides plenty of power for most business apps.

  • Power User
As far as I can see things, a power user is one of the most well informed people. They know what they need and are willing to push their PC to the maximum in order to attain their purpose. That is why nothing save the best components will suffice. The video card isn't necessarily required, but the rest must be top notch. HP Envy 6-1110us may not fall under the standard definition of a power user laptop, but it most certainly can take it. As long as you don't go overboard with the multitasking and demanding activities, it should be more than suitable enough.

  • Gaming
The definition of a gaming laptop is pretty much the same one as the definition of a power user laptop, except you also add a powerful video card to the mix. Therefore, I proudly say that this laptop can be used for quite a little bit of gaming, however, I strongly advise against trying to run games at the maximum settings, else you will be disappointed. HP Envy 6-1110us can run a vast majority of games, but it cannot run ALL games when they are maxed out.

PROs Vs. CONs

Perhaps the best advantage of HP Envy 6-1110us is its size. To find something this powerful in such a small, stylish and light package is something to be amazed of, indeed. Also, some may rejoice that this laptop comes with Microsoft Windows 8 on it. Personally, I do not find altogether that great and exciting, but to each his own opinion.

Perhaps one of the main disadvantages of HP Envy 6-1110us Sleekbook is the fact that it lacks a numeric keypad. Frankly, I believe that there is more than enough space on the keyboard part to add said section, however, if that is how they prefer it so be it.

User Reviews: what others think?

As of yet, I was able to locate a review for HP Envy 6-1110us. The person enjoyed the hardware specs, but didn't provided many other details. However, you too can be a reviewer if you purchase this laptop and share your opinion about it with the world.

Summary

In conclusion, HP Envy 6-1110us Sleekbook is quite perfect for almost all categories. It may be better for some and less good for others, but in the end it fits the taste of all. The only people I would say shouldn't really buy this laptop are the casual users, as they can very well do their tasks with a regular under 400 dollars laptop. For all the rest I say this thing: this laptop has limits, and as opposed to the human body, it cannot overcome them, nor should you force it to.
