UPDATE 15 December 2012 = There’s a Newer Version of This Laptop. Click here.
At under $430 (at the time of this review), the HP 2000-2a20NR laptop offers decent performance (it offers basic-to-moderate computing power, in my opinion) for a very attractive price. It’s an affordable & solid option for both casual and business users, as well as college students headed back to school. You can count on this model as an everyday laptop for everyone to use.

integrated Graphic Card & Pretty Strong Processor
The processor is the Intel B970 running at 2.3 Ghz (with 2 MB of Cache, 2 Cores, 64-Bit support, based on the Sandy Bridge architecture). It integrates a graphic card called Intel HD Graphics that is based on the HD Graphics 2000 clocked at 650 / 1100 (with Turbo Boost) according to notebookcheck.net , allowing you to play only the low demanding games in the lowest details settings. You can read more about the processor & graphics specifications on the official Intel website over here.
Another great feature is that, in addition to the GPU, the Intel HD Graphics 2000 chip also houses some dedicated units for decoding and encoding HD videos. Is also good to know, that the power consumption of the GPU is quite low and suited for small and light laptops.
HP 2000-2a20NR Memory RAM Upgrade from 4GB to 8GB
HP 2000-2a20NR comes with one slot of 4GB DDR3 memory installed. The maximum supported memory for this laptop is 8GB. If you plan to buy this laptop and improve it’s performance even more (mainly for power users) you can buy another 4GB DDR3 (from one slot). Although HP 2000-2a20NR is a good laptop, it will perform even better once you upgrade the RAM from 4GB to 8GB.
HP 2000-2a20NR has a 500GB size HDD running at 5400RPM, using a feature called ProtectSmart, to protect your stored data from sudden impacts. It’s more than enough for casual users, business people, college students and even light gamers. You can now store more picture, songs, movies and other decouments with this large 500GB hard drive.
The 6-cell battery offers up to 5 hours & 30 mins of up-time, without recharging.
