Dell Inspiron i15R-1316BLU Review

Today we’ll be taking a brief look at a little monster from Dell, the Inspiron i15R-1316BLU. Now I am not saying this because the laptop is ugly or anything (quite the opposite, really), but because it is monstrously powerful. The Dell Inspiron i15R-1316BLU is insanely strong, being able to drive into the ground the vast majority of other laptops.

Plus, I’m not sure if I should say this, but one of its major bonuses is it being a Dell. Now all the people I know of that have owned a Dell one in their life can agree on one thing: they are the most reliable brand you could possibly get your hands on.
One thing to say about this laptop, while it doesn’t have a 14″ screen and it has a normal 15.6″ one, it still looks quite petite. Perhaps it is the rounded corners of the device that make it look so small. I cannot tell for sure.

Who is it for? discussing who would benefit most from this laptop...

  • Student
As a student myself, I can honestly vouch that if you truly want to go to all the classes and be one of the best, you don't really have a lot of free time available for any pleasurable and relaxing activities. Therefore, not a great deal of performance is required in a student laptop. However, having a bit of performance you can rely on, especially at a good price, never hurt anybody. Dell Inspiron i15R-1316BLU is positively perfect for any student, as it has all the necessary stuff require in their daily lives and then some.

  • Casual User
Now normally casual users aren't the brightest of the group. Now I'm not saying that to offend anyone, but most of them do not know how to push the PC to its limits in order to get the most out of it. Activities such as net browsing, social networking, music, pictures and the occasional movie aren't really that hardware demanding. Therefore, basically any PC with the minimum requirement of computing strength will satisfy the people in this category. There is no need to spend so much on a laptop when you have so many cheaper alternatives. Just about any laptop under 400 dollars should get you exactly what you need. However, having a bit of performance you can rely on, especially at a good price, never hurt anybody.

  • Business User
The way I see things, the average business user should value mobility above all else. You never know when you are required to become the "business man on the go", so you can't really be hauling a humongous laptop around at all times. Therefore, I'd say that the best device for a business user should be the Ultrabook, not the Notebook. However, since the price of the weakest of Ultrabooks is as much as this laptop ( perhaps more ), the logical suggestion would be: why not choose the Dell Inspiron i15R-1316BLU instead, pay for the extra quality and get a whole lot more bang for your buck.

  • Power User
The way I see it, the power users are the ones who truly know how to use the PC at its fullest potential. I believe that a power user laptop should be custom built to be the best there is. I think that all components aside the video card ( an integrated one should do ) are to be the best out there. The Dell Inspiron i15R-1316BLU is one that can easily serve the role of a power user laptop. If the 6 GB of DDR3 RAM won't do the trick, the Intel i3 3rd generation processor will most surely do it.

  • Gaming
The definition of a gaming laptop is basically the same as a power user laptop, except you also add a strong video card to the mix as well. It is preferred if that video card is a dedicated one, but in rare cases some integrated ones have been known to work as well. This is one of those extremely rare cases. The HD 4000 video card that this laptop has is an extremely powerful video card. I know this out of personal experience. This video card is capable of running even the newest of titles, as long as you know how to set your details. If you're a gamer on a budget then Dell Inspiron i15R-1316BLU might be something to consider.

PROs Vs. CONs

One of the biggest advantages of this laptop is that with its price, you are also buying a license for Microsoft Windows 8. While it looks good and also functions quite well, I am not exactly a fan of it. I cannot help but shake the feeling that it will run much better on something with a touchscreen, and as far as I know this particular laptop doesn't have one.

Now for most the fact that it doesn't have a dedicated video card and a numeric keypad isn't a problem. Well, it is a slight inconvenience for me as I happen to use both of those particular components. Although, to be fair, in this case the integrated video card more than makes up for the lack of a dedicated one. The lack of a numeric keypad is inconvenient, to say the least, but one can also manage to live without it. The pre-installed programs, while good in intention, will ultimately prove to be a bit annoying as they are mostly trials.

User Reviews: what others think?

Unfortunately, there are no user reviews yet. However, you could be the first to review this laptop. All you have to do is purchase it and then share your opinions about it to the world, so that all may know what you think of it.

Summary

In conclusion, this is a laptop that will suit almost all categories. I wouldn't exactly recommend it to casual users, as it is a bit too strong for the average casual user, and most of them should just stick to laptops under 400 dollars, as those ones will most likely suit them better.
