ASUS A53E-IS51 Review

Being a relatively new laptop, this powerful mid-range priced machine from ASUS should help you in most of the situations. This laptop should prove useful for all categories, provided you don’t have a whole lot of high expectations of it.
The processor of this laptop is great as it has a 2nd Gen Intel i5 processor with 2.5 GHz per core (and 3.1 GHz in turbo-boost). Heck, this processor scores around 3546 points in benchmarks and that’s more than powerful enough for most tasks. Also, keep in mind that most processors installed in retailer laptops often score less than 1500 points.
Also, the price of this ASUS A53E-IS51 at this time is quite enticing. While the full price of the device was around 650 dollars, you can get it now for under $500, thus saving more than 100 dollars in the process.

Who is it for? discussing who would benefit most from this laptop...
- Student
ASUS A53E-IS51 is great for students as it would provide you with a whole lot of performance and mobility for a relatively small price. The large 500 GB hard drive should aid you in whatever space requirements you have. Also, if you need speed, the 4 GB of RAM should be enough in pair with the 2nd Gen Intel i5-2450M processor that this laptop has. - Casual User
If you're a casual user and are thinking of spending a bit of extra coin to get something better than the average, than this ASUS A53E-IS51 laptop is your best choice. Not only does it have all of its features and preinstalled Windows and programs that make it easy to use, but in case there is a problem the ASUS tech support is one of the best out there, or so I am told. - Business User
If you're looking for mobility and strength as a business user, then look no further. ASUS A53E-IS51 combines the two with grace and beauty. In case you're looking for a budget business laptop that is more than strong enough as to handle just about any program then I doubt you will find something much better than this one. Also keep in mind that this laptop doesn't come with a Bluetooth connection. - Power User
The ASUS A53E-IS51 is satisfactory for power users. While it may not be able to provide you with the same performance that a professional power user can, it gets the job done. The RAM of this device is upgrade-able to 8 GB ( most ASUS laptops have more than 1 RAM port ), therefore you could use the cash you're saving on it to increase its RAM or put in an SSD instead of the hard. - Gaming
ASUS A53E-IS51 isn't very fit for gaming. It can run the older titles at medium details, but I really don't think it can run the newest of titles, even with the upgrades recommended to power users. If you want gaming, I strongly suggest considering paying 1000 bucks or more for a gaming rig.
PROs Vs. CONs
One of good things about this laptop would be the upgrade-able RAM. Also, in case you're worride about the 1333 MHz part, the frequency can be boosted from the BIOS of the laptop (however, it may not be the best idea as it is bound to have some form of side-effect in the long run). Also, the processor of this device, combined with the RAM (if you choose to upgrade them first to their maximum capacity) will equal to nearly as much power as a power user laptop can provide.
Apart from the few limitations that this laptop has (the ones due to the price - you can't really have power user expectancy from a laptop of this caliber and price), this ASUS A53E-IS51 has no real disadvantages.
User Reviews: what others think?
Unfortunately, at the time this review was written, there were no user reviews of this laptop. Perhaps there will be in the nearby future.Summary
In conclusion, this is a laptop fit for most categories. While it may not be so indicated for gaming or power users, with the money you're saving on it you will be more than able to upgrade it here and there, thus increasing its performance by quite a lot. Therefore, it's safe to assume that this mid-to-low priced laptop can satisfy all categories. " class="orange">Click here to see what other CUSTOMERS ARE SAYING...Technical Details
