Acer Aspire S3-391-6616 Review

This relatively new Acer Ultrabook is a real looker. It is sleek, beautiful and a real joy to use. I remember I had one like this (or very similar) in my hands a few months ago in an offline store.

The mobility of this laptop is incredible. Not only is it incredibly thin, but it is also smaller than regular laptops as it has a smaller screen. While most of them would be in possession of a 15.6 inch screen, this laptop beats the odds and has a 13.3 inch screen, thus occupying even less space.

Also, the hardware of this thin-sized monster is incredible. The Acer Aspire S3-391-6616 has a 2nd Gen Intel i3 processor – a 2377M one with 1.4 GHz per core and 3 MB cache. That processor can pack a lot and is good for just about all tasks you might have for it.

Who is it for? discussing who would benefit most from this laptop...

  • Student
Acer Aspire S3-391-6616 is perfect for the student-on-the-go. It will offer you all of the required strength for your activities, plus all the mobility ensured by its Ultrabook aspect. The 320 GB hard drive should prove more than sufficient enough for all of the files you might have to store on it as well.

  • Casual User
Acer Aspire S3-391-6616 Review is great for casual users. While I do find it a bit weird for a casual user to get an Ultrabook, I still endorse the activity. This laptop in particular is perfect. It has a sufficiently large 320 GB hard drive with a SSD and everything it needs to make it move as swift as the wind in both boot-up and all the rest of activities.

  • Business User
Due to the high mobility and reliability, not to mention all the bells and whistles like Bluetooth v4.0 and USB 3.0 ports, this laptop ends up being an ideal choice for business users everywhere. If you have some files to transfer on your phone and lack cables at the moment, this Acer Aspire S3-391-6616 laptop should more than prove up to the task thanks to its ultrafast BlueTooth v4.0 connection.

  • Power User
Unfortunately, this is only considered an Ultrabook for power users if you don't have a requirement for a lot of power. Otherwise, I do not really recommend it for this user group. While its processor and RAM may be fast, they aren't nearly enough to satisfy the more demanding power user.

  • Gaming
Unfortunately, this Acer Aspire S3-391-6616 ultra-thin laptop isn't really usable in gaming. Maybe it will run some of the older titles at low details, but no way can it be used for the newest of games (especially the ones from 2011 - present).

PROs Vs. CONs

One of the greatest things about this laptop is its SSD hard. While 20 GB may be very little (barely enough to hold Windows), I am sure that it is built in a similar way as my Hard and SSD are (a sort of RAID that boosts the regular hard with the SSD, thus allowing for massive decreases in the boot-up time). Also, since this laptop comes with Windows 7, I think you can still choose to upgrade to Win 8 for a mere 15 dollars (if you so desire) but I'm not sure.

Perhaps the only real apparent disadvantages of this laptop are the ones tied to being an Ultrabook. Therefore, it's not necessary to point out that it is pretty flimsy and fragile (no matter the model, I think), and you should treat it with care. However, I really doubt that you would pay 500+ dollars on a laptop to just throw at it walls.

User Reviews: what others think?

Unfortunately, as of yet there are no user reviews of this particular machine. There may be some more by the time you read this review, however.

Summary

In conclusion, you can use this laptop for just about anything. Its mobility will more than come in handy and it is a great little machine to boot. Almost all categories will profit from this cheaper Acer Aspire S3-391-6616 Ultrabook. Perhaps the only ones who will find it insufficient for their daily routines are the Power-Users and Gamers, for whom I recommend a PC that costs at least 500 dollars more than this one.
